Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between porcelain and ceramic tile?
Porcelain tile is fired at a high temperature, absorbs less than 0.5 percent water and is much more durable. Ceramic (wall) tiles are more porous and lighter and are generally used on walls.
What does rectified tile mean?
Rectified tile has its edges precision-cut to size after firing. Joints can then be narrowed to 2 mm for a more seamless look.
Which slip-resistance class for a bathroom floor?
At least R10 is recommended for a bathroom floor; R11 can be considered in wet areas of homes with children or older people. Avoid polished surfaces.
Can I use the tiles with underfloor heating?
Yes. Porcelain tile conducts heat much better than parquet. You only need to follow the commissioning procedure for underfloor heating (gradual warm-up).
Why does the same batch matter?
Different batches in ceramic production may vary slightly in shade (colour) and calibre (size). Choosing the same batch avoids shade differences in the space. Check the shade and calibre numbers on the box labels.
