The durability of porcelain tile depends on installation as much as production. The recommendations below are general guidance; see the collection's technical data sheet for details.
Substrate preparation
The screed must be fully cured (usually 28 days), clean, flat and free of dust and grease. The flatness tolerance is at most 3 mm over 2 metres, which matters even more with large formats.
Adhesive and joints
- Up to 60x60: C2-class cement-based adhesive
- 60x120 and above: double-buttering and C2S1 flexible adhesive
- Joint width: 2-3 mm for rectified tile
- Movement joints: every 50 m² or at corners
Cleaning and care
Cement traces should be removed with an acid cleaner shortly after installation. For daily cleaning a neutral pH detergent is enough. On matt and textured surfaces use a brush to reduce dirt retention; on polished surfaces prefer a microfibre cloth.
Warranty
For correctly installed products a 10-year surface warranty applies, and a 25-year wear warranty for floor ranges. The warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, abrasive cleaners and impact.
